Gas vent blowers allow the extraction of hydrocarbon gases from the crude oil storage chocks on the FPSOs in order to convey them either to the torch system for them to be burned, or towards a gas recovery system.
This operation avoids the accumulation of hydrocarbon gases in confined areas (explosive zones), prevents the accidental triggering of gas detection alarms ("venting") and finally minimizes the environmental impact while enhancing the hydrocarbon gas .
